Bird Of Paradise

Bird of Paradise - "Strelitzia reginae" Around the word this beautiful flower is associated with Madeira Island but its origin is from South Africa.

Perhaps because it appears on many postcards or because we have a huge amount of these all over the Island, sometimes next to the houses, public gardens or even up tp 400 meters high is some areas.

UMM Cournil

When i heard or read ate the beginning this vehicle returned to the road that the car had many stories, yeas it is true it had many stories since 1983, but i could only remenber these ones! We will release some videos of this recovery/restoration process of this portuguese vehicle UMM - Cournil that was condemmed to scrap. In this video special thanks to my father and my brother, without my father this project never have gone ahead.

Madeira is a garden

The Madeiran people are proud to live in this paradise so it is very common to see various types of flowers around their houses in pots or gardens, but because Madeira is a garden these flowers also grow naturally in our mountains up to an altitude of 800 meters. At the end of September and beginning of October we started to see these beautiful flowers blooming in our forests.

This herb grows well in Madeira up to 300 meters high and it gives this fantastic flower, which in some countries is used in salads or for medicinal purposes because it has a large amount of vitamin C.

Rising from the ashes

Madeira after the fires that mitigated our Madeira and destroyed 1% of our Laurissilva Forest and that it will take many years to recover (unless there is human intervation, more appropriately by the competent authorities) due the altitude and wheather conditions of those places. I believe and we Madeirans believe that it will recover its natural beauty again, we ask and demand greater care not only for our Unesco World Heritage, but whole island deserves to be respected by all and preserved for being our greatest treasure
