On this off-road we have a large area with these Australian tree-ferns, they can reach up to 10 meters height and we can see them on the island up to an altitude of 850 meters.

Madeira after the fires that mitigated our Madeira and destroyed 1% of our Laurissilva Forest and that it will take many years to recover (unless there is human intervation, more appropriately by the competent authorities) due the altitude and wheather conditions of those places. Very pleasant 4x4 tour to see different aspects of this beautiful island of Madeira (peaks, forest tracks, small levada, typical houses and many beautiful viewpoints). Given our orography and the whole island being mountainous, especially above 800 meters high we have a lot of moisture, moisture that is retained by trees and vegetation.
